The Long Goodbyes

Now the shoe is on the opposite foot
& you’re saying you want me back
full of flimsy excuses & reasons
but in my book you’re guilty of high treason

Now the cupboard is bare of fallout debris
there’s no atoning for the wrongs you’ve done
& I’ll see you swingin’ from my old man’s tree
on a sunny day in a warm summer breeze
