Leading Me into Blind Corners

Don’t lecture me on the benefits of discretion
I’m a blundering fool when it comes down to brass tacks
salvaging facts of little importance or impact
following in the tracks of my past
leading nowhere fast as is usual
on the run with the sun at my back
hiding from naked truth carried on the winds of change
leaving misaligned impressions on my sense of direction
