“Bio”… October 6

After my Dad passed
Mum became more lenient
and gave our decisions respect as appropriate
Sure, she had her faults but don’t we all?
She was always fair towards me

The boys were then a hopeless cause
I know little of them as children
except that they meant trouble
doing things they ought not do

We girls excelled in our chosen fields
As sisters we’d form alliances
switching loyalties from time to time

Mum had become an alcoholic into old age
until she met the right man for her
